چکیده

Neospora caninum is a parasite of the phylum Apicomplexa that causes significant economic losses for cattle husbandry worldwide. Despite its relevance, information regarding infection prevalence in endemic areas Colombia scarce. Previous studies have reported high seroprevalence dairy from Boyacá, which suggests risk factor active transmission neosporosis. However, there no available data concerning stage or presence said peripheral blood cattle. In this study, genetic detection N. was carried out using nested PCR with an Nc-5 marker on samples cows municipalities Paipa, Toca, and Tuta. Four positive were sequenced through Sanger method, then edited, aligned, compared to sequences GenBank database. The parasite’s DNA detected 23 170 analyzed samples. A qualitative limit estimated (~64 parasites per volume sampled). This first report Colombian Thereupon, further about molecular population genetics could be very useful early diagnosis neosporosis creating more effective epidemiological surveillance strategies.
